Tours in San Pedro de Atacama

Salar de Tara. A piece of heaven on earth.

With lagoons, rivers, and meadows in an area of 48 square kilometers, the eroded relief of Tara offers a fabulous spectacle. Here, rolling terrain and volcanoes coexist along with native animal and plant populations.

Thus, it is common to find bofedales, coirones, yellow straw, tolas amaja and water tolas, flamingos, vicuñas, chululos, culpeos foxes, puna chorlos, jergón ducks and Andean gulls.

Undoubtedly, visiting the Salar de Tara is one of the most interesting excursions in the Chilean altiplano in the Atacama area where you can appreciate the clearest signs of glacial advances and thawing periods. Inhospitable spaces of magnificent colors and shapes are surrounded by impressive lagoons of varied colors. This excursion is characterized by visiting hidden places of difficult access, where it is possible to enjoy the immensity and silence of the altiplano.
