Named "Death Valley" because of its enormous dunes with narrow sand ridges, it is one of the most recommended sites for trekking and sandboarding.

 

From San Pedro de Atacama, it is only two kilometers until we reach the valley. As soon as we leave the road, a sign indicates that we are already inside what is known as the Cordillera de Sal: a kind of pre-mountain range that, interrupted by some plains, will later become the majestic Andes Mountain Range.

 

We pass through a large canyon formed by small mountains and clods of earth that, eroded by the wind, gained unique shapes that create a remarkable and fascinating setting. 

 

The "Valley of Death", as it has been called, has been waiting for us for millions of years.
